A 35-year-old man is in custody in Florida in connection with a gruesome murder involving cannibalism in Bridgeport.
Police say they found Angel Gonzalez dead and dismembered inside an abandoned home last month.
They say Tyree Smith admitted to a relative that he took an ax to Gonzalez and then ate pieces of the victim's brain and eye in a cemetary.
Officials says Smith suffers from mental illness. He is being held on bond in Florida until he can be extradited to Connecticut.
Friends of Gonzalez have set up a memorial in front of the building where he was killed and plan to meet there tomorrow at 5 p.m.
They say they are outraged at what happened and want justice to be served.
