Bridgeport police are calling a fire that tore through a local car repair shop ?suspicious.?
The fire started at around 11:30 p.m. Monday at Connecticut Mustang on Grant Street near Seaview Avenue. Firefighters say about 20 cars were damaged. Officials say firefighters had to work quickly to contain the flames and prevent combustible materials from exploding.
The Bridgeport fire marshal has called in state fire inspectors to help with an investigation. Dogs were also brought in to help search for evidence. The battalion chief says when he arrived at the scene, it was clear the fire wasn?t an accident.
