A growing group of patients who received medical implants that later failed are looking to file a class-action lawsuit against the manufacturers.
A recent federal report says Fairfield County has the highest rate of defective medical implants in the nation.
Patients say that the companies knowingly keep marketing their products after they become aware that they are defective.
The patients say that the lawsuit isn't about the money, but about sparing others the nightmare they?ve endured with their defective implants.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) says he will be introducing legislation that would alert patients if an implant they received had been recalled.
