Darien police are looking for the vandals who scrawled hate graffiti on trees at the Olson Woods Bird Sanctuary.
The Darien Land Trust, an organization devoted to protecting and preserving open spaces, says they are shocked and outraged over the act.
In addition to the swastika symbols, the nonprofit says other symbols were also etched into the trees.
The executive director at the sanctuary says they're hoping to avoid cutting down the trees. She told New 12 that an arborist was coming to remove the paint Tuesday.
