SWAT called in for Norwalk domestic dispute
A domestic dispute Saturday night led to a SWAT team deployment and criminal charges for three family members, according to police.
A neighbor called police about the incident on Broad Street because she thought she saw a handgun and blood, causing police to pull their handguns, rifles and even put a sniper in the area.
The father and son at the house were involved in another domestic dispute earlier in the day, according to police.
However, police later found out the blood the neighbor thought she saw was just the remnants of a salsa jar thrown at a wall, and the gun was a baton owned by the son at the home, authorities say.
Police say the dispute broke out when Jacqueline Zwart, her husband and son had an argument over her name not being on the house's lease, and the two men wanted her out of the home.
During the second dispute, police say the father came out of the home peacefully, but 10 members of the SWAT team had to go into the house to get the son, 27-year-old Richard Zwart Jr.
Richard Zwart Sr., and his son face charges of disorderly conduct and assault. Jacqueline Zwart faces charges of attempted assault.
