A Greenwich day care center has been shut down after nearly all their staff called in sick earlier this week.
Gateway School officials say the decision to close for one week was made Tuesday due to the call-outs. Four faculty members were diagnosed with Influenza A and no swine flu confirmations have come yet.
Schools are not required to close even if swine flu has been confirmed, according to the Greenwich Department of Health. The department says officials should use discretion to decide if their school can operate safely.
Officials at the Gateway School say they have thoroughly cleaned the school and plan to reopen on Monday.
