A state senator from Bridgeport says tariffs are driving up construction costs and hurting families across Connecticut.
Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox, who represents Bridgeport, Trumbull and Monroe, says she's heard from constituents about the impact on both commercial and municipal projects.
She says one local project came in more than $1 million over budget due to rising supply costs.
Gadkar-Wilcox says the tariffs, put in place by the Trump administration, are likely to hurt American manufacturers and slow economic growth.
