A class at Park City Magnet School in Bridgeport is doing its part to fight childhood cancer.
Erik Johnson's seventh-grade history class watched their teacher shave his head and beard for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Johnson says he decided to grow out his hair back in October just to cut it off for the organization.
He says the school raised nearly $2,500 for St. Baldrick's.
"It's a bit of an honor because I get to represent this whole school and walk around here for the next few months, and people are going to see my hair and they're going to remember this was a fundraiser for childhood cancer research," said Johnson.
Johnson says one of the third-grade classes that raised the most money got the chance to take turns shaving his head and beard.
