Friends and family are mourning an Amity Regional High School graduate who police say was hit and killed by a drunken driver on Christmas night.
Police say 18-year-old Bobby Weidig was struck near Litchfield Turnpike and Hatfield Hill Road in Bethany as he was walking to a music and dance event at a barn up the road.
Authorities arrested Barbara Ross, 60, of Cheshire. Ross was uninjured.
Weidig's aunt, Roberta Bona, tells News 12 Connecticut that Weidig loved to play the flute and guitar, and had plans to travel the world on a mission to heal others.
Ross has been released on $5,000 bond and is due in court on Jan. 4.
