Police say a 19-year-old man was shot just outside the Charles Green Homes on Highland Avenue Sunday.

According to authorities, the teen was shot near the intersection of Highland and Washington avenues, but then managed to go inside a nearby convenience store for help. The clerk at the store says the man came in covered in blood and then collapsed on the floor. The clerk quickly called police.

Police say the victim was conscious as he was taken to Bridgeport Hospital.

Authorities are hoping to use surveillance video from the store for information about the shooting.
