Thousands of people celebrated the unofficial end of summer Monday at Newtown's annual Labor Day parade.
The parade featured baton twirlers and horses, with Newtown High School's marching band providing the music.
Local and state leaders marched as well, including both gubernatorial candidates.
Gov. Dannel Malloy and his opponent in this year's election, Republican Tom Foley, both told News 12 Connecticut they had a great time taking part in the parade.
