Torrington man arrested in connection with Christmas morning assault
A Torrington man has been arrested in connection with an alleged violent assault on his girlfriend.
Police arrested Mario Pimentel on Thursday. Authorities say he got angry when his girlfriend said she was tired and was leaving the party they were at in Norwalk on Christmas. The 22-year-old then choked and punched the woman, and threatened to throw her off the apartment's balcony, police say.
Pimentel is being held on $200,000 bond.
