Stamford Toys for Tots and Vineyard Vines have partnered to make the holidays brighter for local children.
For the first time, the nonprofit and the clothing company, which has its headquarters based in Stamford, teamed up to collect toys.
Over 200 toys were collected.
The gifts will be given out to kids throughout Lower Fairfield County.
Vineyard Vines also donated pajamas and stuff animals to children from several families who have recently lost a parent.
A social worker says those families are thankful.
"For the families it means so much to receive an extra gift. its hard to be without their mother, be without their father, so just getting a little extra love on Christmas is meaningful for them," says Lesley Ulloa, a social worker at Northeast Elementary School.
Toys for Tots officials say they are still seeking donations.
Presents can be dropped off at their location at 1111 Summer St., on the second floor in Stamford from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Officials are specifically looking for items for kids ages 9 to 12.
