A tribute was held at Western Connecticut State University's O'Neill Center tonight for the victims of the Newtown massacre.

Event organizers say, two months ago to the day, the Dalai Lama stood and spoke about love and compassion at the same center. The event was titled 'Community Endures: A gathering in recognition of the spirit of Newtown.'

A local florist had 2,000 roses delivered to the event and handed one to any hand that reached out. The crowd was also given candles, tissues and stuffed animals.
