A nursing home in Trumbull has been evacuated because of a water issue. Police cars are blocking both entrances Thursday morning to the Genesis St. Joseph's Center facility on Main Street.

Several ambulances have come and gone transporting people.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health notified the Town of Trumbull Wednesday afternoon that they are investigating a water issue. The facility's Teresian Towers and Carmel Ridge are not impacted. The town and Connecticut Department of Public Health have made the decision to evacuate the Genesis St. Joseph's Center facility. This decision was made to protect the health and well-being of all residents in the facility. Local and state officials were on site to help with the evacuation.
