The Transportation Security Administration says a Philadelphia man was arrested after they confiscated a loaded gun from his luggage at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Officials said this happened on Sunday.
TSA said the gun was packed with two additional gun magazines and 24 more bullets.
Officials said the Port Authority Police confiscated the firearm and ammunition and arrested the man with weapons charges.
In a statement, TSA's Federal Security Director for JFK said, "The only way to fly with your firearm is to ensure it is unloaded, packed in a hard-sided locked case, and taken to the airline check-in counter and declared."
