While the tornadoes that struck the Dallas-Forth Worth area yesterday fortunately did not kill anyone, the damage they caused was felt even in southwestern Connecticut.
Robin Wexler, of Stamford, is a Dallas native and still has a number of family members who live in the area.
"My husband called me at work and asked me if I had heard from my family and I said why," said Wexler. "He said there are terrible tornadoes in Dallas."
Wexler says that her sister-in-law rode out the storm with her newborn baby in their closet.
Officials say 12 tornadoes destroyed or damaged 650 homes and tossed truck trailers high into the sky like toys.
