Students at the University of Connecticut danced their hearts out this weekend during the annual HuskyTHON event, which raised over $1.7 million to benefit Connecticut Children's.
According to a university spokesperson, hundreds of students took part in the 18-hour dancing event in an effort to raise funds to be used toward providing critical treatments, health care services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care for the hospital.
Patient families from Connecticut Children's were also present, including "miracle children" who have received treatment at the hospital.
The dance marathon started in 2000, and it has run every year since.
