The state voter hotline says it received more than 1,000 complaints during the New York primary.
New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer has ordered an audit of the city's Board of Elections, and Mayor Bill de Blasio says he supports this decision.
Board of Election members say "these kinds of problems are not all that uncommon" and that "we are going to assume everyone did their job until proven otherwise."
Hundreds of New Yorkers' names were removed from the voters registry, and most didn't find out until attempting to vote.
