3ds agoWegmans Food Market announced Tuesday it plans to open its first Connecticut store in Norwalk.
The proposed site is at an office complex along I-95 currently owned by MBI Inc. It plans to move to new office space within the city.
The two-level store would be approximately 95,000 square feet and will include a multilevel parking garage.
The prospect of the new storefront brought joy to many Connecticut residents, while others say they're worried it will only bring more traffic to the already busy area.
A timeline for construction and opening has not yet been determined as the company is currently seeking municipal approvals for the project.
