News 12 Connecticut today toured the historic Westport church that is still trying to recover after a six-alarm fire last month. The blaze broke out Nov. 20 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church on Post Road East. Officials say flames tore through the back of the building for more than six hours, heavily damaging the music room and nursery school. A fire remediation company has since cleaned up and cordoned off several areas in need of repairs, and workers say some of the church's original walls contained the fire long enough before it reached the sanctuary. Church officials say, despite the adversity, the community has pulled together to help the congregation recover.Burned Westport church plans Christmas feastAuthorities investigate Westport church fire
