Westport Weston Family YMCA announced the opening of its cancer recovery program in partnership with LIVESTRONG.
The 12-week program is open to those who are either recovering from or have cancer.
Together, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA use a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors regain their health and strength in a supportive environment.
Participants in the small-group recovery program work with specially trained Y staff to customize the program to their individual needs. Over the 12 weeks, participants also receive a Westport Weston Family YMCA membership.
Common goals include rebuilding muscle mass and strength, increasing flexibility and endurance, reducing fatigue, and improving confidence and self-esteem.
