The Westport Downtown Association's Sidewalk Sale is back - with bargains galore!
The event has been a rite of summer and a staple of the community for decades.
People flocked to Main Street in Westport Friday for the deals at the annual sale.
"It's a great event for the whole community to come and support and shop local," said Westport Downtown Association communications director Micaela Marshall.
It featured more than 60 merchants and 15 vendors, from clothing to food.
"Anything that gets people down to downtown is a welcome thing," said Rye Ridge Deli owner Mike Ventorino.
The event is not exclusive to Main Street, it also incorporates surrounding streets and businesses.
"We love the sidewalk sales our opportunity to support our community and to be a part of the excitement and support other local businesses around us," said Penfield Collective owner Vanessa Lewis.
There's even a scavenger hunt.
"To win a $100 gift card, so win a $100 just for coming down here which is super cool and you have to go take pictures at the different stores around," said Marshall.
Westport is offering more than just the Sidewalk Sales this weekend.
There's also the Great Duck Race Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Westport Library.
"We're welcoming about 200 employees from the U.N. tomorrow at our annual June day. It's their day out in the country where they get to enjoy our recreational facilities," said Westport First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker.
The Sidewalk sales also runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. -5 p.m.
