This week's "What's Ailing You" looks at natural alternatives for pain-relief medication.
Doctors say you may be able to cut back on pain medication or avoid it altogether in some cases.
Naturopathic doctor and registered nurse Cindy Anderson, of Sabita Holistic Center in Southport, says studies show yoga and other methods for relieving stress in body and mind also reduce pain.
Dr. Anderson says she has seen how acupuncture can free up blockages contributing to pain. She prescribes vitamin C to reduce inflammation and vitamin D to alleviate musculoskeletal aches and pain.
