Wilton police will be participating in an expanded “No-Shave November” until January by growing out their facial hair to highlight men’s health issues.
No Shave November events are traditionally associated with prostate and testicular cancer.
The effort will go toward raising funds for national charities and health organizations, including Visiting Nurses, Circle of Care, and the Connecticut Cancer Foundation.
Anyone who would like to donate can contact the Wilton Police Benevolent Association at (203) 834-6260.
Dr. Stanton Honig, the chief of men's health at Yale Medicine, says many men's health problems can be easily solved if they're caught early, "One of the nice things about men's cancers is when they're found early, especially testicular cancer it's got a 99 percent cure rate."
