In an operation that spanned from Long Island to southwestern Connecticut, police say a Long Island man scammed customers? money and identification.
Wilton police have issued an arrest warrant for Bryan Borzell, who is accused of ripping off more than $2,000 from a 76-year-old woman. Authorities say Borzell would pressure customers into signing up for chimney sweep services, lie about whether work was really needed and jack the price way up. In some cases, police say Borzell and his team would steal valuables from the customers? homes.
Borzell was arraigned Thursday in Suffolk County, Long Island on similar charges where he pleaded not guilty.
