Hermine is slowly making a northward turn toward the area before heading out to sea, and forecasters say the storm's effects may be gradually felt in southwestern Connecticut. 
Areas north of the Merritt Parkway could feel wind with gusts up to 25 mph. 
A few light showers are possible throughout the area overnight and on Tuesday.
It is advised to exercise caution and stay out of the water. Rip currents associated with Hermine will be strong.
