A Winsted animal rescue group is searching for a woman who abandoned a dog.

Muddy Moose Mutts Rescue says the dog was left in an empty pen at the shelter.

The group is looking to obtain the dog's medical records, saying it is in "very bad shape."

The rescue is asking that someone foster or adopt this dog. Food and medical expenses will be covered.

Winsted Animal Control is now involved.
