? The first major snowstorm of the season tapered off late Friday evening, leaving behind up to 9 inches of snow and icy roads. But the region is not out of the woods yet.
As the mercury dropped into the 20s, some light snow continued falling early Saturday morning, dusting the ground with an inch in accumulation. Road conditions remain treacherous, and drivers are advised to take extra travel time to avoid sliding on patches of black ice.
More snow is expected to arrive Sunday morning, bringing totals of 2-6 inches before turning into freezing ran later in the day.
