Woman struck by train in Norwalk

MTA police say a woman was found dead near the Metro-North train tracks after being struck by a train. Police say the woman's body was found just after 1:30 a.m. south of the South Norwalk train station.

MTA police say a woman was found dead near the Metro-North train tracks after being struck by a train.
Police say the woman's body was found just after 1:30 a.m. south of the South Norwalk train station. MTA officials say an engineer traveling on a train from Grand Central to New Haven reported striking debris at around 12:30 a.m.
Police say they initially didn't find anything when crews arrived near Wilbur and Taft streets. About an hour later, officers say they found the body of the woman near the tracks.
Police say there were no witnesses to the accident and that they are working to identify the woman. The victim appears to be in her late 20s to early 30s.
