A woman suffered life-threatening injuries this morning when her car crashed into a large rock off the Merritt Parkway in Norwalk.
The incident happened around 4:19 a.m. in the northbound lane between exits 40 and 41.
The Norwalk Fire Department says the woman's Honda Civic sedan left the roadway, struck a large rock, rolled and landed upright in the right lane.
The woman was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Norwalk Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
State police closed the Parkway down for several hours on the northbound side, but the roadway was reopened just after 8 a.m.
