Caroline Simmons is the first woman to be elected mayor for the city of Stamford.

Mayor Simmons just presented a new budget to the public and has been focusing on infrastructure and economic prosperity.

Mayor Simmons says her advice to young women is, "Don't be afraid to speak up and ask important questions, let your voice be heard."
