The Fairfield Town Planning and Zoning Commission is considering whether to allow a Chick-fil-A to open on a busy stretch of the Post Road.
The restaurant would be built at the former home of Joe's American Grill at 750 Post Road. The next closest Chick-fil-A is in Norwalk.
The popular fast-food spot has loyal fans, but some say they don't like the idea of the chain coming to the area, citing traffic concerns that have plagued the Norwalk location.
Representatives have stated that the Fairfield location would be designated to handle a large amount of traffic.
Designers of the proposed Fairfield location say it would be different than the Norwalk location and have more room for cars.
At a virtual town zoning meeting Tuesday night, numbers from a traffic study were crunched and the public was invited to comment.
The group ran out of time and did not come to a decision, but they say they will continue the discussion in a meeting in October.
