Police say a 42-year-old woman was shot and killed inside a Bridgeport club Friday night at the club?s grand opening event.

Authorities say they are searching for the suspect, who also shot and injured a man inside La Cueva Club on the east side. Officers say there was a dispute between several people before the shooting. One witness claims the victim threw a beer in someone?s face earlier in the evening.

Witnesses say they heard several shots fired and saw people running out of the club into the street. One man, who attempted to help the victim, says the 42-year-old woman was shot in the head. Police say she was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The man injured in the incident was shot in the leg. He was also taken to Bridgeport Hospital, treated and released.
