Police suspend search for man missing after boat sinks near Cockenoe Island

Five people were on the boat that sank Sunday morning. Three were rescued by a group of boaters.

The search for one of the two boaters who went missing in the waters of the Long Island Sound near Cockenoe Island on Sunday has been called off Tuesday.
Westport police and Coast Guard officials say the search was suspended pending any further developments.
Westport Police Marine Division says Juan Gabriel Valle Pineda, from Spring Valley, New York, was found three miles northeast of the sunken boat on Monday. The other missing boater is from Suffern, New York.
The search started off the shore of Compo Beach and stretched over into the waters of Bridgeport.
Five people were on the boat that sank Sunday morning. Three were rescued by a group of boaters.
The search for the second victim continued Monday, but was called off at 9 p.m.
There is a GoFundMe fundraiser set up for Pineda.
Chopper 12 captured the moment police found the lost boat. They deployed dive teams to retrieve and investigate the area but initially had no luck in finding the two missing people.
