There is relief in sight for some local businesses affected by COVID-19.
The Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District has teamed up with several corporations to provide assistance to 14 Bridgeport businesses.
The businesses receiving assistance will receive a $2,500 grant with technical assistance to create reopening plans.
Major sponsors of the program include United Illuminating and People's United Bank.
News 12 Connecticut spoke to many of the small businesses Monday, who say the grant is important because they haven't been able to receive any government assistance.
Two nonprofit organizations are also receiving a $1,000 grant.
