The 4th Congressional District will hold its first two of seven debates Tuesday between incumbent Republican Congressman Christopher Shays and newcomer Democrat Jim Himes.
The district has been getting a lot of attention recently due to the amount of undecided voters. A recent Sacred Heart University poll showed that out of 400 voters asked about the congressional race, 30 percent were undecided.
Sacred Heart University political science professor Dr. Gary Rose believes the debates will give decided and undecided voters a better picture of who?ll represent the 4th district.
?The question is what is the variable that is going to structure their voting behavior,? Rose said. ?I believe these forthcoming debates will be just that.?
The second of the two debates will take place at the Norwalk Inn.
