Two drivers faced a judge Monday in connection with a road rage incident that involved a slashing and shooting on I-95.
As News 12 reported, state police say Jesus Izaguirra got out of his tractor-trailer and slashed Juan Calderon in the face as Calderon waited at the light on the Exit 41 ramp off I-95 in Orange Thursday night.
They say Calderon then chased the trucker and shot him.
Martin Minella, Calderon's attorney, says his client was only fighting for his own safety after an unprovoked attack.
"It caused serious physical injury to him," he says. "His first reaction would be to defend himself so that this individual would not come back."
Police have not said what caused the fight.
