2-year-old girl hospitalized after nearly drowning in Bridgeport pool
Bridgeport police say a 2-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital Friday after nearly drowning.
They say the incident happened near a home located at the intersection of May Street near Chopsey Hill Road.
Firefighters say they got an emergency call about "an incident at a pool" at about 2:30 p.m. They say the girl was in the pool when her mother pulled her out.
Officials say first-responders administered CPR and rushed her to St. Vincent's Medical Center.
They say at about 4:30 p.m. the child was taken by helicopter from St. Vincent's Medical Center to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Detectives were at the hospital and at the house Friday gathering information to piece together exactly what happened.
