Stamford has kicked off a plan that aims to eliminate fatal and serious crashes by 2032.
Officials say the Vision Zero Action Plan will include public engagement featuring a series of pop-up events throughout the city. There will also be a website where residents can sign up for events and complete surveys.
"We are also in the process of designing raised intersections on Washington Boulevard. We will receive state funding for both Main Street and Richmond Hill Avenue and we are also working on a sidewalk on Longridge Road,” said Frank Petise of the Stamford Transportation, Traffic and Parking Bureau.
The city has received a $17 million grant from the federal Department of Transportation to create a walkable greenway from Mill River to the Stamford Train Station.
