Schaghticoke Middle School in New Milford announced to parents that it was canceling classes Tuesday due to a threat received on Monday.
School Superintendent Janet Parlato said the school received a threat involving "the use of a weapon."
According to Parlato, no other schools were mentioned in the threat.
All other schools in New Milford will operate as normal.
School officials said extra police officers will be at each school in town on Tuesday.
