A Connecticut man who spent 48 years on the run after escaping from prison in Georgia is expected in court today to fight an extradition attempt.
Robert Stackowitz was arrested in Fairfield County in May.
He admitted he escaped from prison in 1968 while serving a 17-year sentence for robbery.
His lawyer claims prison would be a death sentence for his client because he has major health problems.
