A 77-year-old New Canaan is expected to be charged with murder for allegedly shooting his wife.

Albert Kokoth told police his wife died in an accidental shooting.

He is currently charged with assault, assault with a firearm and illegal discharge of a firearm. He pleaded not guilty to those charges on Tuesday.

Kokoth will be brought to Stamford Superior Court on July 13, which is when the state expects to serve him with a new warrant for murder.
