Police are investigating the death of a 9-year-old boy who was found in his bed Monday morning.
Police were called to an apartment complex on Cove Road at around 7:00 a.m. They say there is no indication of foul play and that the child appears to have had underlying health issues.
While at the scene, police wore masks in the event that the recent H1N1 flu outbreak was the cause of death. However, Stamford Police Lt. Sean Cooney says there?s no reason to believe he died of swine flu.
Police have learned that the boy was not a student at Stamford schools. However, the Stamford Health Department is speaking to the boy?s parents to learn how he was feeling in the days leading up to his death. A neighbor who lives down the hall from the family says she saw him playing just days ago and says he seemed healthy to her.
The medical examiner is investigating the cause of death, and police say the results should be released in the coming days.
