A music advocacy group with a passion for classical music is making sure every local music program has instruments for students.
Music for Youth held a collection drive in Westport Sunday morning for High Horizons and Multicultural Magnet Schools in Bridgeport.
Organizers say that because of budget cuts, they need to update their equipment.
A new instrument for a young child makes a huge difference with their musical experience,” says Misty Beyer, of Music for Youth. “The ability to produce a beautiful sound is going to, in many cases, make it or break it for that student."
All instruments collected were in good condition.
