Attorney General William Tong announced Wednesday that he is seeking civil action to reduce or revoke the pension of former Bridgeport Police Chief A.J. Perez and personnel director David Dunn following guilty pleas in connection to federal charges.
Perez and Dunn pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud and false statement charges after the two were accused of a scheme to get Perez the position of police chief.
"Taxpayers should not pay for the pensions of public employees who violate the public trust," Tong says in a statement.
