The Bronx man accused in the fatal shooting of a 2-year-old boy nearly two years ago is now being charged with murder.Ronnell Gilliam was allegedly involved in an altercation at the intersection of Harrison and East Tremont avenues in April 2006. The altercation escalated to gunfire and a stray bullet, allegedly from Gilliam?s gun, hit and killed David Pacheco, Jr. in the car seat of his family?s minivan. Gilliam was not charged in the crime until October, at which point he was charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution. The charges have since been upgraded to second-degree murder.Gilliam?s attorney says his client will plead not guilty in next week?s indictment and arraignment. Another man involved in the altercation, Nicholas Morris, was also charged with two counts of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree manslaughter and related weapons charges.
