Family and friends Sunday remembered the 30-year-old Bridgeport woman who police say was fatally shot a day earlier.

They say Mita Dumeng was a beloved local mother who was devoted to her family.

Police say she was killed in a domestic violence incident off Huntington Turnpike.

"Mita was an amazing woman. I didn't know her very well, but she was just a beautiful spirit and I hope that, since this tragedy has occurred, that in the very near future the Bridgeport Police Department will consider putting together a domestic violence task force," said resident Shaun Baker.
