2ds agoDozens of cats are being cared for by local animal shelters and hospitals after being removed from a home in Derby.
Shelton Animal Control says 44 cats were removed from a home on Hawkins Street and many were taken to their facility.
A few dead cats were found at the house and several other cats had to be put down.
Many of the cats have health issues as a result of the living situation.
The owner of the home was charged with 10 counts of animal cruelty but that may increase.
The house has since been condemned.
