Ansonia man sentenced in connection with thefts of $150,000 worth of catalytic converters

A stolen converter typically has between $300 and $1,500 in precious metals in it.

An Ansonia man has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in connection with a string of catalytic converter thefts.
Francisco Ayala admitted to taking part in thefts across the state, including stealing the converters off two vans at a Stratford business in March of last year.
In all, he stole about $150,000 worth of converters.
A stolen converter typically has between $300 and $1,500 in precious metals in it.
